The Church That Omitted the King’s Name: Trinity 1776 Tour

July 5 @ 10:15 am - 11:30 am

Following the 9 am service on July 5, join Trinity tour guides at the eagle lectern to explore the history, art, and architecture of our historic building and learn about Trinity’s role in the religious life of Boston during the American Revolution, as we celebrate the 250th anniversary of our nation’s independence. Hear how Trinity’s young assistant rector, and the sole remaining Anglican clergyman in the city, managed to keep the church open throughout the war despite moments of open hostility.

This tour will repeat as Public Drop In Tours at 12 noon and 2 pm on the same day. The Trinity 1776 Tour at 10:15 is free and open to all. The Trinity 1776 Tours at 12pm and 2pm are included with paid admission. Admission may be purchased in the Welcome Center, located in the narthex via the main entrance facing Copley Square. The price is $10, or $8 for seniors, students, educators, military, and First Responders. Children younger than 14 are free, as are EBT and WIC cardholders. For more information visit https://trinitychurchboston.org/tours/
