The Rev. Robert D. Flanagan, DMin who will talk about While Mortals Sleep, a recent volume exploring the life and legacy of Phillips Brooks, beloved preacher and rector of Trinity Church, Boston. Bob is the editor of the book, which brings together reflections on Brooks’ enduring influence, including his years in Boston. We are especially proud that our Archivist, Cynthia E. Staples and our own Rector, The Rev. Morgan Allen are contributors to the volume, offering insight into Brooks’ time and ministry in Boston and at our church. A recent reviewer notes, “While Mortals Sleep is a fantastic Christian history collection,” and “the writing is conversational and detailed, with historical material introduced in context for readers meeting Brooks for the first time.” Join us for an enlightening presentation and conversation about one of our most famous church leaders.
