Dear Trinity Church and friends,
Grace and Peace and Pentecost greetings!
On this Holy Spirit Sunday, I am delighted to share in the glad news of God’s call and our hire of a new Minister for Early Childhood. During a yearlong interim period, Abi, Katrina, and our Children’s Ministry Committee have assembled a ready infrastructure for our new Minister’s success and nurture of our youngest members. In addition to those leaders, I am grateful to all who have stretched to ensure every child in our care knows they are loved by God and this parish family.
Please see below notes of introduction from Abi, as well as from our new colleague, Kenna.
Looking forward to the glad seasons ahead,
The Rev. Morgan S. Allen
Rector
Dear Trinity Church,
We are delighted to introduce Ms. Kenna Bartholomew as our new Minister for Early Childhood. In this role, Kenna will coordinate and oversee all programs for children nursery-aged through 3rd grade. Kenna joins us after recently graduating from Boston University with a Master of Divinity. She also brings the practical ministry experience of serving as a pediatric chaplain, teaching parish Sunday School, coordinating programs for all ages, and recruiting, training, and nurturing volunteers.
Kenna will join our Family Ministries team and work closely with our Children’s Ministry Committee, as well as Katrina Leslie, our music department, and me, as together we foster faith development for all ages and all stages. I am so grateful for Katrina and the Committee’s faithful work this past year to build, as Morgan said, an infrastructure to welcome our new Minister for Early Childhood.
Though Kenna’s work will focus on our children, our shared care of our youngest members is a parish commitment, not just a parent’s concern.
Kenna will join us for Church Bingo on June 29 after the 9 am service, and her first day in the office will be July 1. I look forward to your meeting her soon!
With joy,
The Rev. Abigail W. Moon
Senior Associate
Hi, Trinity Church!
My name is Kenna Bartholomew (she/her/hers), and I am so excited to be joining the team in a few weeks! I’m a recent graduate of Boston University School of Theology, where I’m known as “the one with the fun earrings.” Working with children and being able to walk alongside them in their curiosity, growth, and chaos has always been such an incredible blessing, and I am honored to become a part of the Trinity community for such an important task.
I grew up in Texas, although my extended family has more recently joined me in the New England area. In the fall, I’ll be living in Allston with my fiancée, Jess, and our two pets, Oli and Kronk. In my free time, you’ll find me reading, crocheting, or swing dancing!
Always feel free to reach out for coffee and a chat—I look forward to meeting everyone!
Blessings,
Kenna Bartholomew
