Choir Participates in "Bach in the Subways"
Members of the Trinity Choir will be sharing their love of J.S. Bach's music with new audiences by performing Motet "Der Geist hilft unser Schwachheit auf" (BWV 225) at pop-up concerts around the city this Saturday, March 24, as part of Bach in the Subways. Trinity joins this global celebration of Johann Sebastian Bach's 333rd birthday with amateur and professional musicians playing pop-up concerts in over 150 cities in 40 countries.
Performances are open & accessible to all, no admission fee is ever required, no money is accepted by performers, and no other commercial transactions occur before, during, or after performances. Bach in the Subways aims to strip away all cultural and artificial barriers that impede peoples’ natural appreciation for classical music.
March 24 Performances:
- South Station, 2:30 PM - 2:45 PM
- Boston Public Library Copley Square, 3:45- 4 PM
- Copley Place, 4:30-4:45 PM
The Choir is led by Trinity's Director of Music, Richard Webster, and Assistant Director Colin Lynch. Since 1975, Richard Webster has also been the director of the renowned annual Bach Week Festival in Chicago.
