Parish Profile and Search Committees Named
Trinity Church’s search for a new rector has begun in earnest with the Vestry’s announcement of the formation of the Parish Profile Committee and Search Committee. The two committees will kick off their work this weekend at a retreat with the Vestry.
Members of each committee were chosen from a general pool of nearly 70 applicants. While many candidates were highly qualified, the committee members were chosen for the skills and experience needed for their jobs, and to ensure voices from throughout the parish are represented. Selections were made with special attention to include members of different genders, races, ages, ministry and engagement, and length of parish membership from lifelong to relative newcomer.
Interim Rector the Rev. Bill Rich commented, “I was tremendously moved that the call for nominations to the Profile and Search Committees led nearly seventy parishioners to step forward. Such self-offering by so many speaks volumes about the deep care that Trinity parishioners have for this wonderful place that is our spiritual home.”
Thank you to all who applied and offered their time and talent for the future of Trinity Church. There will be ample opportunity for the entire parish to participate in the profile and transition process over the coming year.

Timeline
The hope is that a Profile will be completed -- with dependence on hard work and the grace of the Spirit -– by the closing days of 2017. Until that time, the Search Committee will be engaged in preparatory work, and then launch its active phase in the early days of 2018. It is hoped that a new Rector could be called by fall of 2018 and arrive by Christmas that year.
All are invited to the Parish Update on Sunday, October 1 at 10:15 a.m. and 7:15 p.m. to hear more.
More news related to the rector search and transition will be posted to trinitychurchboston.org/rector-search as it becomes available.
