Trinity Church is honored to host athlete, author, and activist Alison Mariella Désir April 12-14 for the Anne Berry Bonnyman Symposium weekend.
Alison Mariella Désir is the author of Running While Black: Finding Freedom in a Sport that Wasn’t Built for Us. The Symposium, in partnership with Trinity Boston Connects (TBC), will celebrate the Joy of Running, Belonging, and Community in the context of addressing systemic racism and building supportive, inclusive, and equitable communities.
Trinity will also welcome the Rt. Rev. Jennifer Baskerville-Burrows, an accomplished long-distance runner and bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Indianapolis.
We have an inspiring schedule pertinent to both runners and nonrunners alike:

Friday, April 12 4-6 pm, Trinity Church Read and Run with Alison Mariella Désir Youth-Focused Community Event

Alison Mariella Désir will read from her book and answer questions, then lead a short run/walk followed by pizza at Trinity. Come with your sneakers on ready to run/walk this gentle 1.4 mile out-and-back route that takes roughly 25 minutes. Download the mini-poster PDF for the Read & Run here.

- Saturday, April 13, 11 am-2 pm: Bonnyman Symposium with presentation by Alison Mariella Désir, lunch, and panel discussion with Alison, Bishop Jennifer Baskerville-Burrows, and Adrienne Benton (Board of Directors, Boston Athletic Association), and Sidney Baptista moderated by the Very Rev.
