Exciting News about our Family Ministry Team
Dear Trinity Church and Friends,
I write today to share exciting news about our Family Ministry team.
During the past year, I have been blessed to support the children’s and youth community of Trinity Church. Your hopes, the staff’s gifts, and our parish’s history of ministry with families have inspired me! Building on our shared commitment to bring God’s love to all people, we are now expanding and reorganizing our ministry staff.
This Summer, Trinity will welcome Katrina Leslie as our Minister for Youth and Young Adults. In this role, Katrina will directly support the faith formation for Grades 9-12; coordinate and help connect our ‘tween and middle-school programming; and lead our ministry with those in their twenties and thirties, including our current "Trinity T-n-T" group. Just last week, Katrina received from Boston University her master’s in Education, and she brings deep experience in Episcopal summer camp and college programs. With a deep faith and a love for youth and young adults, Katrina’s first formal day in the office will be August 1.
Katrina will join our Family Ministry team that includes the talents of Cathy Portlock Pacitto and Beth Folsom. In our reorganization, Cathy will continue as our Minister for Early Childhood, a portfolio that will focus her treasured graces on the Nursery, Children’s Homily, and Church School for grades pre-K-3. Beth will continue as our Minister for Middle-School Youth, focusing her wonderful gifts on our fourth- through eighth-grade community.
I can’t wait to convene this amazing team! We will serve not only our congregation’s youngest members, but their parents and encouragers, too. Energized by one another, we will always do and become more than we could ever accomplish either alone or independently. Together with our whole parish, we will provide opportunities to build up our Beloved Community with love and understanding.
Join us in the Commons on June 18, after the 9 am service, to welcome Katrina and greet the entire Family Ministry team!
With gladness and singleness of heart,
The Rev. Abigail W. Moon
