- Music is at the heart of our common life at Trinity and many newcomers are drawn into the community through the beauty and richness of our music offerings.
The Trinity Choir is world-renowned, and its members serve as ministers of music in our worship each Sunday. Our Youth Choristers also lead a service of Choral Evensong each Wednesday during the Program Year (which mirrors the standard academic calendar) at 5:45pm.
During the Advent season (the weeks approaching Christmas), we offer one of our most highly attended worship services of the year, Candlelight Carols. A beloved Boston tradition since 1909, Candlelight Carols celebrates the birth of Christ through Scripture readings and carols and anthems offered by the Trinity choirs and instrumentalists. Tickets go on sale in early October.
We also offer opportunities to enjoy music outside of worship. Trinity Choir’s annual performance of Handel’s Messiah each December, with orchestra, is Boston’s only performance of this masterpiece in a sacred setting. During the Program Year, “Free Fridays at Trinity” organ concerts are offered each Friday at 12:15 in the Sanctuary, featuring prominent organists from across the globe.
