Pysanky Egg Decorating

Palm Sunday, 4/13, 1 pm, Lloyd Forum

Pysanky is the Ukrainian name for a wax-resist decorative egg, the pysanka. Pysanka comes from the verb pysaty, meaning “to write”, as the designs are written onto the egg with beeswax, rather than painted. This practice is a very ancient and beautiful tradition, most commonly done before Easter. Once finished, these pysanky can be used on the Easter table or as house decorations. Alona Popova will be our pysankarka for this class. Click here to sign up.

Praying our Parish Prayer List Together

Mon., 4/14, 12:15-12:30 pm, on ZOOM Link Click Here

Each week our Prayer Ministry members gather to pray each of the names on our parish prayer list and then hold space for open intercessory prayer. During the season of Lent, our Prayer Ministry is inviting the Trinity community to join with them in this practice each week on Mondays at 12:15 via Zoom. It is a wonderful way to pause in your day and have a moment of quiet reflection with others in our community. We hope you will join us.

Compline on Zoom

Tues., 4/15, 8:30 pm; on Zoom

The ancient office of Compline derives its name from a Latin word, completorium meaning ‘completion’. It is a service of quiet and reflection before rest at the end of the day. Compline includes a confession of sins; one or more psalms; a short reading from scripture; responses; the Lord’s Prayer; collects which ask for God’s protection during the night to come; and the canticle Nunc dimittis. A hymn for the evening may follow the short reading from scripture. The collects may be followed by a time of silence, along with space to offer your own prayers of intercession and thanksgiving.

  • The service starts on page 127 of the Book of Common Prayer.
  • While our service begins at 8:30 pm, the Zoom room will open at 8:15 pm for friendly chat.
  • Join in on Zoom here. Or by calling 1-646-558-8656 and entering Meeting ID 206 654 379

Maundy Thursday, 4/17, 8 pm – Good Friday, 4/18; 10 am; Chapel and on Zoom

As our Maundy Thursday worship concludes, we will begin a “Gethsemane Watch” through the hours of the night. Recalling Jesus’ gathering with his disciples in the garden just before his arrest, we honor Jesus’ charge to “Stay awake and pray.” The Watch will begin in-person at the conclusion of our 7pm Maundy Thursday Service with the procession of the reserved sacrament to the chapel. The in-person vigil will continue until 10 pm. We will then, pray through the night at home. The Watch will resume in-person at 6 am, on Good Friday and conclude at 10 am, just before our Good Friday worship begins at 12 noon.

All are welcome to attend at any time. To ensure that we have at minimum 2 people present during the watch, we invite you to sign-up for times in the Watch. Select the slot that best suits your time and location. If the slot you would like attend is filled, you may still attend those in person slots. PLEASE NOTE, all prayers between Thursday at 10 pm and Friday at 6 am will NOT be on Campus. We would like for two people to always be praying; if the slots when you would like to pray are full, please feel free to join in at that time also.
