For many years, Trinity Church has supported the good work of the Louis D. Brown Peace Institute (LDBPI). The organization serves as a center of healing, teaching, and learning for families and communities impacted by murder, trauma, grief, and loss.  Believing that families impacted by murder deserve to be treated with dignity and compassion, regardless of the circumstances, staff work with families from across the city, state and country to unite toward peace. Based in Dorchester, staff provide a variety of services, including: emotional and practical support to families in the first 24 to 72 hours after a homicide or other trauma;  preparation and resources for incarcerated individuals to return to their communities; healing and support workshops and groups; policy advocacy activities; and educational trainings for survivors and service providers. We want to support all of this good work.  Annually, on Mother’s Day, the Peace Institute holds their largest fundraising event, the Mother’s Day Walk for Peace.
