Pray the Psalm: Nathan Carter – A life “about music”

On most Sundays at 9:30 am, (prior to 9:45 Worship from Home), the music staff will host a Zoom session to introduce a new hymn or canticle that will then be featured in the service.
Nathan Carter (1936-2004), Selma, Alabama native, distinguished Black composer, choral director and educator at Baltimore’s Morgan State University, gave us today’s setting of Psalm 131, which the choir will sing. Mr. Carter’s funeral at Baltimore’s Shiloh Baptist Church was led by a choir of more than 200 alumni of his Morgan State Chorus. Colin will lead us on an exploration of his extraordinary musical legacy.
