More Fruits of Fourth-Century Conciliarity: The Holy Spirit and Religious Freedom

April 27 @ 11:15 am - 12:00 pm

Event Series Event Series (See All)

This presentation will look at the wide-ranging and far-reaching fourth-century developments, not only in the Christian understanding of the Trinity (with particular attention to the person and work of the Holy Spirit), but also in Christian convictions regarding the nature of religious freedom and the proper relationship between political and spiritual authority, all of which have theological and political implications reaching to the present day. We welcome back Dr. Boyd Taylor Coolman, Professor of Theology at Boston College, as our guest speaker on this day.

Dr. Boyd Taylor Coolman is a historical theologian who studies early and medieval Catholic theology. He currently serves as Professor of Theology at Boston College. With his wife, Holly Taylor Coolman, who’s a theologian at Providence College, he lives in Providence, RI and they have five (nearly) adult children and one granddaughter.
