On most Sundays at 9:30 am, (prior to 9:45 Worship from Home), the music staff will host a Zoom session to introduce a new hymn or canticle that will then be featured in the service.

On this First Sunday after the Epiphany, as we commemorate the Baptism of Christ, we will sing 2 German chorale tunes - one practically from memory -- Hymn 135: Songs of thankfulness and praise (Tune: Salzburg). The other, Hymn 139: When Jesus went to Jordan's stream (Tune: Christ unser Herr zum Jordan kam), may be less familiar yet nearly sings itself. This is the genius behind German Lutheran chorales -- tunes that are sturdy, straightforward, memorable and oh, so singable! Richard will lead us in a bit of rehearsal.
