Children's Ministries Second Sundays Fellowship: Pretzel Making
Tradition tells us that, long ago, pretzels were first made by monks in Italy, who twisted long, thin strips of dough into a shape that looked like praying arms. They were originally called bracellae, or "little arms". For a long time, pretzels were only eaten during Lent. In some countries, they were passed out to the poor during Lent. One Austrian tradition had pretzels suspended from palm branches on Palm Sunday for passerby to pick and eat. We eat pretzels any time of year now, but making pretzels can be a fun Lenten activity. A Zoom link, along with a supply list and recipe, will be emailed.
