Last Sunday we had fish … this Sunday we’ll have bread.
Trinity Church, we must be in the midst of a miracle.

Last Sunday, Morgan’s sermon shared the remarkable story of the fishermen of Portrieux, France, who for centuries fished for cod far from home in the perilous North Atlantic seas. Inspired by their devotion of dedicating every Sunday’s catch for the support of their home chapel, we ask ourselves in this stewardship season – what portion of our daily life and labor might we offer to support the ministry of our own parish home?

This Sunday, we at Trinity Church will celebrate those very offerings. On November 16, during all three of our worship services, in place of our customary offertory, we will bring our annual pledges forward* and offer to God those promises of support for Trinity’s upcoming year of ministry. Following the 10 am and 5 pm services, we’ll gather for festive fellowship and share loaves of bread as symbols of our generous care for one another and our Beloved Community.

The “loaves and fishes” story is the only one of Jesus’s miracles to appear in all four Gospels. It is a powerful reminder of the abundance God will provide through a community of believers who faithfully offer all that they have, to one another and to Christ. Trinity Church is such a community, and we are those faithful and generous disciples. Join hundreds of fellow Trinity parishioners in making your pledge of financial support for 2026, today. Come celebrate God’s abundance with us in worship this weekend. Last Sunday, fish. This Sunday, loaves of bread. Every day, God’s beloved community of Trinity Church, we are indeed in the midst of a miracle.

* If you have pledged early, thank you! If you pledge before Sunday, thank you! We will have prayer cards available in the pews for you to bring forward as a symbol of the commitment you have already made.
