2025 Price Lecturer 1 of 2: The Very Rev. Dr. Cynthia Briggs Kittredge

Dean Emerita of the Seminary of the Southwest, Anglican biblical scholar, feminist theologian, and poet, the Very Rev. Dr. Cynthia Briggs Kittredge, received degrees from Williams College and Harvard University, and was ordained to the priesthood in the Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts. A fuller bio may be found here. Dr. Kittredge joined our Lenten explorations for two Sundays – March 23 and 30 – as a preacher and as the 2025 Price Lecturer.

On March 23, Dr. Kittredge preached all three services, and, at the 11:15 Forum hour, she and Morgan shared a conversation about scriptural engagement.  Bringing perspectives from the pew, pulpit, and academy, they asked one another: Who wrote the Gospels and why does that matter? What does it mean to “believe” scripture? How do I make sense of scriptural passages that don’t make sense?
