150th Anniversary News & Visioning Sessions

Grace and Peace to you, Trinity Church!

With grateful hearts, today we make several leadership announcements related to the 150th anniversary of our church building’s consecration. What an exciting opportunity to celebrate the long history of our worship home – and to inaugurate its centuries of ministry still to come! In all these joyful labors …

… the Most Important Leader is You!

Every single one of us has an important role to play in shaping our commemorations and the plans that will emerge from them. Therefore, please mark your calendars for visioning sessions this November. These events will comprise a mix of in-person and on-line, day and evening, weekday and weekend programs, so that as many people as possible can participate.

Please find the dates and times, and sign up for one (and only one) session, below. While more details will follow, we want to get these dates on your calendars post haste. It will be especially helpful to have responses as soon as you know your schedules so that we can ensure a critical mass and plan for resources at each session.

These events mark the first of several phases of our shared work. In the following months, we will refine and prioritize the ideas gathered, aimed for an announcement of our plans at the Annual Parish Meeting on Sunday, February 15. With the Holy Spirit as our partner, we will then work together to bring those plans to life, for our anniversary year of 2027 and beyond!

Anniversary Committee Members Called

In May we announced the five co-chairs of our 150th Committee, and over the summer added to their number for a total membership of twelve. Newly joining the committee are: Leslie Colburn, Nicolle Diver, Mark King, Tim Martin, Kathy Sheehan, Pam Waterman, and David Zug. They join co-chairs Chris Allen, Izzy Allen, Laurie Buchta, Jeannette Fiala, and Chris Parris. Thanks be to God for their willingness to put their many talents to work our behalf!

Honorary Cabinet Membership

Also in our May announcement, we shared the news that the 150th celebration leadership would also include an Honorary Cabinet, co-convened by Barbara Dortch-Okara and Louise Burnham Packard.

We have imagined the 150th’s Honorary Cabinet as a group of parish leaders who have made extraordinary contributions to the stewardship of the Trinity Church buildings and vitality of our parish, across lifetimes of care and commitment. Among this group are households who have offered their unique wisdom and spiritual gifts at key moments in our history, who have invested significantly in the parish’s wellbeing, and who have steered the parish as officers of our Vestry. Thanks be to God, Trinity Church boasts an impressive – and large! – group of leaders who fit this description. Accepting the call to serve on the Honorary Cabinet are:

Christopher Atwood and Jeffrey Kubiatowicz
Katharine Bachman and Elizabeth Gawron
George Bennett
Alex Burke and Chris Birch
Marty and Bob Cowden
Barbara Dortch-Okara and Ebi Okara
Maryann and John Gilmartin
