DESCRIPTION:Discover Trinity through a guided tour led by our highly skilled docents. Offered at select times only\, these engaging tours last approximately 45–60 minutes and provide insight into Trinity’s history\, architecture\, and significance. Guided tours are included with admission and are available on a limited schedule. All are welcome! \n#1. The Warmth of Other Suns\, The Epic Story of America’s Great Migration by Isabel Wilkerson (2010). . Wednesday\, June 24 \, 6:30 – 8 pm\, Zoom \nJoin us for a discussion of this groundbreaking book based on historical research and more than a thousand interviews. The story of the Great Migration is told through the lens of the lives of three remarkable protagonists: Ida May Gladney\, a sharecropper’s wife moving from Mississippi to Chicago in the 1930’s; George Starling\, a student and citrus groves worker fleeing from Florida to New York in the 1940’s; and\, Robert Foster\, a medical surgeon and war veteran leaving Louisiana with hopes of a better life in California in the 1950’s. \nWe welcome all interested to discuss the social\, political\, and spiritual journey of the people in the book and the collective cross-country journey of over six million Southern Blacks to the North and West and how this indelibly shaped America.
