Richte mich Gott - Felix Mendelssohn (1809-1847)

  der meine Freude und Wonne ist, und dir, Gott;

  auf der Harfe danke, mein Gott!

Was betrübest du dich, meine Seele,

Vindicate me, O God, and defend my cause

    against an ungodly people;

from those who are deceitful and unjust

    deliver me!

For you are the God in whom I take refuge;

    why have you cast me off?

Why must I walk about mournfully

    because of the oppression of the enemy?

O send out your light and your truth;

    let them lead me;

let them bring me to your holy hill

    and to your dwelling.

Then I will go to the altar of God,

    to God my exceeding joy;

and I will praise you with the harp,

    O God, my God.

Why are you cast down, O my soul,

    and why are you disquieted within me?

Hope in God; for I shall again praise him,

    my help and my God.

If ye love me - Philip Wilby (b.1949)

If ye love me,

keep my commandments,

and I will pray the Father,

and he shall give you another comforter,

that he may 'bide with you forever,

e'en the spirit of truth.

O Trinity most blessed light - Robert Turner (1920-2012)

O Trinity, most blesséd light,

O Unity of sov'reign might,

as now the fiery sun departs,

shed thou thy beams within our hearts.

To thee our morning song of praise,

to thee our evening prayer we raise;

then may our souls for evermore

in lovely reverence adore.

All praise to God the Father be,

all praise, eternal Son, to thee,

whom with the Spirit we adore,

for ever and for evermore.

Amen.
