O quam gloriosum - Tomás Luis de Victoria (1548-1611)

O quam gloriosum est regnum,

in quo cum Christo gaudent omnes Sancti!

Amicti stolis albis,

sequuntur Agnum, quocumque ierit.

O, how glorious is the kingdom,

in which all the saints rejoice with Christ!

Arrayed in white robes,

they follow the Lamb, wherever He goes.

Text: All Saints, Second Vespers, Antiphon to the Magnificat - cf. Revelation 7:9

Give us the wings of faith - Derek Williams (b. 1945)

Give us the wings of faith to rise

Within the veil, and see

The Saints above, how great their joys,

How bright their glories be.

We ask them, whence their victory came

They with one united breath

Ascribe the conquest to the Lamb

Their triumph to His death.

They marked the footsteps that He trod,

His zeal inspired their breast;

And following their incarnate God

They reached the promised rest.

The Souls of the Righteous - Geraint Lewis (b. 1969)

The souls of the righteous are in the hand of God,

and there shall no torment touch them.

In the sight of the unwise they seem to die:

and their departure is taken for misery:

but they are in peace.

For though they be punished in the sight of men,

Yet is their hope full of immortality:

for God proved them and found them worthy of himself.

And in the day of visitation they shall shine,

they shall judge the nations,

and have dominion over the people,

and their Lord shall reign for ever. Amen.
