Candidates Sought by Nominating Committee

November 30, 2016

12/6/16: It has just come to our attention that Scott McIntyre was mistakenly left off the list of Nominating Committee members. We apologize for the error.

Dear Fellow Parishioners:

The Nominating Committee will begin to consider nominations for parish leadership positions beginning in December. We’d like to encourage you to submit names for consideration.

We very much hope to have your input and ideas in this process, in order to compile a slate that reflects our richly gifted and diverse community. Names are valuable; they form a living treasury of talent from which we can draw now and in the future.

The committee always starts with a list of names submitted in previous years, as well as leadership information from the various ministries at Trinity. Together with your new submissions, we will prayerfully consider the right mix to provide a vibrant leadership group at this time. The earlier you submit your candidates, the more time the committee will have to consider the candidate.

This year, we are seeking nominations for: Junior Warden and three other members of the Vestry; two delegates and two alternate delegates to Diocesan Convention; a delegate to the Boston Harbor Deanery; and a delegate to Episcopal City Mission.

The best way to submit a name for consideration is to fill out the form, which will be available on the website at trinitychurchboston.org/news and in “hard copy” at the Parish House reception area beginning today, Wednesday, November 30. Also available are descriptions for the positions we are working to fill, the qualities we look for in candidates, and an overall timeline leading up to the Annual Meeting.

You may also direct names or any questions to me, or speak to any other member of the committee, which includes, Grace Clark (ex-officio), Linda Davidson, Pete Lawrence, Sam Lloyd, Tim Martin, Anne Ogilby, and Libby Roberts.

Nominations are due by Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at the very latest. The proposed slate is required by our bylaws to be posted on Friday, February 10, 30+ days prior to our Annual Meeting. The Annual Meeting and Election will be Sunday, March 19, 2016.

Thank you for your thoughtful consideration of candidates!

Sincerely,

Kathleen Hirsch
Nominating Committee Chair
